About Me
Rama is a caring and motivated therapist with a focus on providing support for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and anxious behaviors across all age groups. As a Palestinian-American Muslim, who grew up in the Alief community she works well with many different cultures and brings a culturally sensitive approach to her practice, recognizing the importance of honoring one’s background and beliefs in the therapeutic process.
As a therapist, Rama has a particular passion for working with sensitive gifted and talented children, understanding the unique challenges they face in reconciling their exceptional abilities with the pressures of society and familial expectations. She creates a safe and nurturing space for these children to explore their emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies. As a former teacher, Rama recognizes the frustration and pressure that children experience daily and how they may express their internal experience through challenging or confusing behaviors that can be overwhelming for parents.
Throughout her career, Rama has developed specialized expertise in supporting individuals struggling with low self-esteem, helping them cultivate a positive self-image and embrace their unique qualities. She believes in empowering her clients to recognize their inherent worth and strengths, fostering a sense of confidence and self-assurance that transcends cultural and societal barriers.
Rama is deeply committed to promoting mental health awareness and destigmatizing seeking help for psychological concerns within the Muslim community and beyond. She values cultural competence and strives to create a therapeutic environment where individuals feel understood, respected, and supported on their journey toward healing and personal growth.
In addition to her clinical work, Rama is actively involved in the play therapy community and she aims at promoting mental health education and access to culturally sensitive services. She is dedicated to fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
